Fortnite Champion Series: Season X Overview

Epic Games, developer of Fortnite, recently announced that their newest champion series for trios will begin on August 17th and run through September 15th . Many players of the game are excited to get in on the action and try and get a piece of the $10 million prize pool. Current pros are already getting together and playing scrimmages to get ready for the real thing. If you want to tune in, many of them are streaming these scrims on twitch, with streamers like Bugha, Tfue and LiquidChap pulling in big numbers. The competition in this series will be tough, so if you want to join in you better get to practicing.

What is the Schedule of the Fortnite Trio Series?


Round one of the Champion Series is set to start on August 17th, and from then on it will run on a weekly basis through September 15th. The trios that qualify from their regions will get a chance to participate in the Champion Series Season Finals from September 20th-22nd, the grand final being on the 22nd. Players with the most Champion Series points at the end of each week will get to move on to the next week. There will be three of these weeks, with 10 games being played each week. Players will compete to get as many points as they can within these 10 games to try and secure their spot to move on to the Season Finals.
The Season Finals will consist of the highest ranked players from the initial weekly competition.

How Will the Fortnite Champion Series be Scored?

These finals will be separated into four heats and consist of six games total. Highest ranked players from this pool will then move on to the Grand Finals.
The grand finals will include 32 teams competing in the same heat. It will last around three hours with a new game starting every 30 minutes.

How Will the Fortnite Champion Series be Scored?

The scoring for the Champion Series will look familiar if you have followed Fortnite tournaments in the past. Players will receive points based on eliminations as well as placement.

Here is how the trios will earn points in the Fortnite Champion Series:

  • Eliminations: 1 point per elimination.
  • Victory Royale: 15 points
  • 2nd Place: 12 points
  • 3rd-4th Place: 9 points
  • 5th-8th Place: 6 points
  • 9th-12th Place: 3 points
